Ten minutes later on the dot I was pulling the car into the shadows across from the house. Quietly I got out after making sure there was no one around going to jump me, my hand on my gun still just in case. A blur of movement near the doorway of the house caught my attention and I darted forward when Letty's form suddenly came into view.
I took her bag off her, shoving it in the back seat of the car quickly as she rushed for the passenger door. Casting a look over at her I saw the stress on her face.
"You okay?" I demanded, not getting in the car just yet.
"Leon now is not the time. Demetri caught me-" A loud bang shot through the night, cutting Letty off from speaking. Both of us ducking in reaction, wildly looking to the house for answers. I swore as figure started pouring out of the house, running in all directions scanning the area.
"Demetri." Letty hissed to me and I turned in surprise not know she had snuck up on me.
"We're gunna have to tail it." I whispered.
"Leon there's too many of them. We're gunna have to fight in order to get out of here." She snapped immediately drawing her gun as she flicked the safety switch off. I followed a second later, both of us standing from behind the car, taking aim at those nearest to us.
"Where do you think you're going?" Demetri demanded reaching forward to grab Letty arm. I took a shot but it missed by an inch and I swore. The shot itself though was enough to scare him, making him jump back and draw his own weapon.
"So this is where you've been sneaking off to. Got yourself a boy-toy on the side. Too bad he's about to drop dead." Demetri snarled taking aim at me but I pulled the trigger first. He howled in pain, gripping his arm as his gun clattered to the floor. Several more shots rang out straight after and out of the corner of my eye I noted a body or two falling to the ground.
"Lets go, I doubt they'll stay down for long." Letty yelled, pushing me into the car. The door had barely closed before I threw the car into drive and took off, wheels screeching as I turned.
"That was too close for comfort." I whispered as my breathing slowed to normal.
"He caught me sneaking out. I made a run for it but I guess I wasn't fast enough.
"We have to pick up Ava and Ana. Get the hell away from here as soon as we can." I muttered and she nodded in agreement.
"Where are they?" She asked and I knew immediately she wasn't referring to Ana and Ava.
"Headed for the warehouses. We need to meet them there and work out a plan to get the hell out of Berlin, in fact Germany altogether."
"We should just leave.Leave them to sort out their own mess."
"Letty we need to work together now if we're all gunna make it out alive." I snapped. She stayed silent as we sped off to the apartments, Letty sending Ana a text in advance to meet us outside with Ava and everything they may need.
"I should call Lotty, she could help us." Letty spoke again not long after. I frowned at the name. Lotty and I had had a fight over me coming to Berlin this time around but I had done it anyway. I Wasn't in the mood to hear her gloat about how right she was.
"No, we'll do this ourselves." I ordered, pulling the car around the corner and to a complete stop. Ana was ready and waiting, Ava safely nestled in her arms.
"Hurry we don't have much time. Demetri won't be far behind I guarantee." Ana spoke as she got in the car, shutting the door behind her. The maternal part of me wanted to wait until Ava was safely strapped in before I sped off but I knew if I wasted even a second it could mean the difference between life and death for all of us.
The car was completely silent as I swerved through the countryside, intent on getting to the warehouse as soon as I could.
"What are we gunna do?" Ana asked and Letty looked to me in agreement. I bit my lip as I thought of a plan off the top of my head.
"Wing it." I muttered eyeing Hobbs' men standing guard. Turning to Ana I held out my spare gun as I slowed to a stop.
"You know how to use a gun right?" I asked and she nodded, taking the offered gun as she and Letty crept out of the car. Three silent shots ran through the night and as quickly as they were gone they were back. Ana looked pale and Letty wasn't fairing much better, in fact I doubted I looked much better. We had gone from survivors to cold blooded killers in the space of an hour.
"Leave Ava, We're in the shadows and the doors will be locked. We'll only be a moment, she'll be okay." Ana spoke, placing a soothing hand on Letty's arm.
"Okay." She whispered.
"Are you ready for this? Once you go in there there's no turning back." I warned.
"Too late to back out now isn't it?" She spoke, her eyes void of emotion. Her walls were up.
