Letty's POV
I laughed out loud as Roman sat across from me recounting his "near death experience" courtesy of Lotty today.
"Honesty you deserved it." Lotty scoffed, throwing me a cheeky wink. I only chuckled in response. In all honesty it was good to be home with everyone. Although the recent fight with mum was still hanging over my head I felt lighter, almost freer than I had before I left.
"So what do you think of the new garage Let?" Mia asked as she walked into the room with a casserole dish straight from the oven.
"You guys worked a miracle. I didn't think it would be up and running this soon."
"Wasn't meant to be. Your crazy ass boyfriend over there worked himself into the ground. Shocked us all to have it open so soon." Roman spoke shaking his head in Dom's direction.
"You were meant to be taking it easy." I spoke as I twisted my head to the left towards him. He said nothing as he shrugged his shoulders and gave me a smile.
"So we getting another niece or nephew this time around?" Brian asked as he walked in placing his loads down on the table, punching Roman in the arm as he went to grab a chicken wing.
"You reached in, you say grace… again." Brian said with a smirk as Roman muttered something under his breath.
"No idea man. They couldn't tell us, hopefully next time." Dom answered, threading his fingers through mine under the table. I squeezed his hand in mine and smiled at him as the banter amongst our family started up as we all sat down for dinner. It was seriously good to be home.

Maria and James' house
Dom's POV
"Do you want me to wait in the car?" I asked as I pulled up out the front of Maria's house.
"No at least come to the door."
"Okay." I agreed, picking her hand up in mine, before lifting it to my lips.
"Can you grab Ava?"
"Of course. You head up, I'll only be a second."
"Okay." She nodded, opening the car door before stepping out onto the driveway.
"You awake miss?" I asked as I turned to look at Ava. She grinned big and nodded in response making me laugh.
"Let's get you out so you can say goodbye to grandma and grandpa huh?"
"Say bye bye."
"That's right baby girl say bye bye." I said as I got out of my seat, closing my door behind me before I opened her door to unclip her.
"Dada." She giggled as I undid her belt and pulled her into my arms, backing out of the car before closing the door.
"Ava." I said back with a smile as she giggled.
"Ganpa." She clapped excitedly and I turned around to face James. The man had barely aged since I'd seen him last.
"Ava, Dom." I nodded to James, shifting Ava from one arm to the other in order to shake his hand.
"James, how are you?"
"I'm well and you?"
"Very good, thank you."
"Thank you coming today."
"I have nowhere else I'd rather be." I spoke truthfully and he nodded with a small smile.
"Where's mama?" Letty asked.
"She's run to the store, come in and have a seat. We can talk inside."
"I should probably wait out here." I whispered to Letty as James stepped aside.
"Nonsense, you'll come in. You need to hear this too."
"Please." Letty asked and I nodded reluctantly, following her into the house.
"Maria is feeling very embarrassed about the way she's been acting. She came home last night in a mad rage, I won't repeat what was said but I'm sure you can guess." James said as he raised an eyebrow at me.
"I'm sure I can."
"Her and I exchanged some words, none too nice I might add but it needed to be said. She woke up this morning and realised she'd been very unfair to you both. She was hoping you'd come today."
"I don't blame Maria for being angry." I spoke up setting Ava on the floor so she could go ahead and play.
"No but she has been unfair to you. There's no excuse and she knows that." He spoke and I nodded silently agreeing. I paused as I heard a car pull up in the driveway and Letty took my hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze.
"James?" Maria called as she hurried through the door.
"In the lounge dear."
"Is Letty here?" We heard her ask anxiously as her footsteps echoed throughout the house.
"I'm here, so is Ava and Dom."
"Oh good." I raised an eyebrow to Letty but she ignored me, her full focus on her mother.
"I was worried you wouldn't come back." She spoke quietly when she entered the room.
"I had to come and get my car."
"I know I just thought maybe you'd send someone else." An awkward silence fell over us before James cleared his throat loudly hitting Maria with a pointed look.
"Gama." Ava called as she finally took notice of the extra adult in the room and toddled over excitedly.
"Hello my darling. Did you have a good car ride?" Maria asked as she cuddled Ava close.
"Car. Fast." She babbled and I grinned, and I noted everyone else in the room grinned as well.
"Dom, I'm glad you came. I have something to say and despite how I've treated you lately I hope you hear me out." At my nod she took a deep breath and continued. "I'm mad I can't say I'm not but not just at you. I'm mad at myself, at Letty, at everyone or anything who played a part in what happened. I haven't been fair to you. I took all my anger out on you and it wasn't justified." She spoke sadly as she looked over at me after placing Ava back on the floor to play.
"I spent a lot of time last night thinking about not only my recent actions but also my words and I'm ashamed of myself. What happened to Letty wasn't your fault, it just set in motion a chain of events. I was wrong to blame you and for that I am truly sorry. I may be angry but I'm not blind. I see how much you love my daughter, I've always seen it. You've made mistakes but you've also had to live with them. I can see how much you're trying. You've always been a good man Dom, you just sometimes make bad choices just like the rest of us. I see that now. I think it's time to let the past go and move on don't you?" She pleaded.
"You're right I have made some bad choices and I've had to live with the consequences that come along with them. I love Letty, I've always loved her and I hate myself for the mistakes I've made where she's concerned. I won't ever forget it was my fault for what she's been through, but I don't need that reminder. It's permanently etched into my brain." I started and she nodded at my last words.
"I'm trying and I'm going to keep trying until the day I die to make her happy, to make her see that I've changed. And like you I would like to put the past behind us as well." I offered and she smiled, her body relaxing in relief.
"Thank you."
"Thank you for the apology." I smiled back glancing down at Letty who squeezed my hand and smiled up at me with watery eyes. I chuckled and brought my hand to her face, wiping away a stray tear that escaped.
"Why are you crying?" I asked softly.
"Because I'm happy, I'm pregnant and I'm allowed." We all laughed as I pulled Letty into my side, wrapping my arms around her as I rested my chin on top of her head.
"Do you think we could maybe visit? You know meet everyone properly this time?" Maria asked hopefully.
"You never have to ask to visit, we always have room for family." I spoke with a smile, catching Maria's gaze over Letty's head.
"Thank you." She mouthed as James grabbed her hand and kissed her cheek.
