Toretto house
Dom's POV
I sighed walking into the house behind Vince. It had been a long five days since the Ortiz's left. One week and I was already finding the garage less alive. The days were longer and the silence was a constant reminder that Letty was gone. Letty had yet to ring and I was getting edgy, but Dad assured me it wouldn’t be too much longer.
"Dom, Letty's on the phone." Dad said from the kitchen and I let out a sigh of relief at his words. Smiling in thanks I led the way into the lounge room where I collapsed onto the couch.
"I thought she was ringing to speak to Mia." Vince stated as we sat on the lounge while I waited for Mia to finish.
"Yeah she is but I want to speak to her too." I said quietly as he gave me a suspicious look.
“You never mentioned that.”
“Pretty sure I did.” I muttered in annoyance. What did it matter if I wanted to speak to her?
"No man you didn’t, you said maybe but never outright said you were going to talk to her.” I shrugged in response and I sighed loudly as I looked up the stairs silently willing Mia to hurry up.
"Dude is there something you're not telling me?" Vince asked suddenly and I gave him a weird look.
"No why?" I asked him confused and he shrugged.
"It seems like you've got something for Letty or something." I sent him an unimpressed glare as I shook my head.
"Vince I told you already she's just a friend."
"Seems like something more." He explained and I shook my head in annoyance.
"She’s a friend who’s going through a tough time. I just want to make sure she's doing okay, besides don't you miss having her around?" I asked while he shrugged in response.
"Her and I have a different type of friendship compared to what you two have, you’re closer." I frowned but I knew it was true. Letty and I had gotten to know each other fairly well whereas Vince and Letty still liked to play fight rather than talk seriously.
"Dom, it’s Letty." I looked up and smiled taking the phone from Mia.
"Hey Let." I said as I cast a quick look at Vince, sure enough he was watching me closely.
"Hey." The small voice whispered and I frowned concerned.
"How are you doing?" I asked softly. She sounded worse then she had at the funeral.
"Alright I guess. How's LA?" I sighed at how quick she changed the subject but I took the hint; she wasn’t ready to talk.
"Same as always."

Four days had gone past since Letty’s first phone call. When I’d hung up from her that day she said she’d ring as often as she could but I hadn’t believed her at the time. Two days later true to her word Letty had called again and every second day since.
By her third call I had noticed a small change in Letty. She wasn’t as short in her responses, meaning there was no more awkward small talk needed from my end to get her to speak. Instead we discussed cars, parties, races and anything else that we could think of.
Shutting my car door I glanced down the street towards the empty house five doors down. It had become a morning and nightly ritual. Always hoping to see a light on or just a sign of life to let me know they were back but I was always left with the same disappointment when it registered no one was there. Sighing I turned away from the house and started up the path towards the house. Turning around slightly I hit the button on my keys watching and listening as my car beeped and the lights flashed, a sign that told me the car was now locked. Taking the front steps two at a time I reached the door in no time, twisting the handle for it to open. Walking in as I shut it quietly behind me once more.
“Hey Dom just walked through the door did you want to speak to him?” I heard as I made my way to the lounge room. Mia stood up from the couch as I entered, the phone pressed to her ear as she said her goodbyes before passing me the phone. She flashed me a small sad smile before sitting back down and going back to her TV program. Turning from the room again I headed upstairs towards my room as I spoke.
“Hey.” I spoke immediately knowing who it was on the other end of the line.
“Hey yourself.”
“What’s new in the DR?” I asked.
“You should know by now nothing exciting happens here.” She sighed.
“Getting bored already?” I joked.
“A little.”
“You sound better, happier.” I commented and she paused in silence.
“Do I?” She asked quietly.
“That’s a good thing Let.” I clarified.
“Yeah I know it is.” She sighed heavily.
“You shouldn’t feel guilty about being happy Letty.”
“Thrown any good parties lately?” She asked blowing off my question.
“No hasn’t been any races lately.” I explained annoyed while I heard a hint of a laugh from the other end.
“Is Dominic Toretto going through withdrawals?” She teased half-heartedly and I chuckled at her words.
“Might be.”
“You’ll have to go elsewhere to find your skanks.” She said and I froze uncomfortably.
“So when are you coming back?” I blurted out in order to ignore her previous comment. My question was greeted with dead silence and I knew I had said the wrong thing. A small part of my brain questioned whether or not she was actually coming back at all. I couldn’t stomach the thought of her never coming back but I knew at that point it was a very big possibility.
“I don’t know.” She mumbled. It was hearing her voice, broken yet again, that I vowed never to ask again.

Christmas rolled around too quickly. Christmas in the Toretto house was always a big affair, it had been a tradition for as long as I could remember. This year was different though and it showed. The atmosphere wasn’t joyful this year, with a lack of laughter and more bickering in the house. Instead of the usual seven occupants that the table held at Christmas lunch time it had dwindled to four. The remaining three chairs that sat empty at the table purely out of habit kept the somber mood through the meal.
Mia was abnormally quiet, still out of sorts about not having her best friend around. Vince was pushing his food around on his plate, staring constantly at the chair in front of him that usually sat Mr Ortiz. I even noticed dad staring longingly at the chair Maria usually sat in. I glanced sideways again to the empty chair between Vince and I. Letty had sat in that chair every Christmas for as long as I could remember. For once I didn’t have to fight for elbow space as I ate, I didn’t have a knee knocking against my own and there was no one there to look over when I spoke to Vince. In simple words I missed it. It wasn’t Christmas without them here.

After Christmas it was clear everyone was still in a funk, our spirits still hadn’t improved any. In the last week I had noticed dad spending a lot more time with Mia whenever he had time to spare. Dad had promised her a father/daughter Saturday movie night in the lounge room together every Saturday. I knew out of everyone this was probably harder on her than anyone else because she couldn’t completely understand why they’d left. Seeing as I had every Saturday free, because every Sunday was family barbeque, I decided to put the day aside each week to spend with Mia. She’d been surprised but happy never the less when I had mentioned it to her this morning and she immediately asked to go the beach. Vince had even asked to tag along and Mia had been quick to agree.
“Do you miss her?” I turned to my little sister as she sat next to me on the towel while we watched Vince make a fool out of himself flirting with girls.
“Every day.” I answered not needing to ask who she meant.
“Do you think she’ll come back?” She asked quietly and I sighed, turning to look out at the ocean.
“I don’t Mia, but I hope so.” I answered.

Train tracks
I nodded to Hector as I got out of my car at the races. Vince was by my side in a matter of seconds as we made our way over to Hector and his cousin.
“Hey boys, long time no see.” He joked as we stopped in front of them.
“Yeah tell me about it.” Vince mumbled and I nodded in agreement.
“Heard what happened, how’s Letty holding up?” He asked as he took us in. Vince and I looked at each other before shrugging.
“Her mum took her to the DR for the holidays. Based on phone calls she’s not doing that great.” I answered and he nodded in understanding.
“How did you hear about it?” I asked and he nodded behind us. Both Vince and I turned at the same time and saw Michelle Tran staring right at us.
“She’s been telling everyone, said you told her. All I’ve heard is her going on about how you’ve been ringing her every night for support.” I cracked a smile and looked at Hector who laughed as well.
“I never said I believed it.” He laughed and I nodded.
“Ain’t true brother, ain’t true.” I muttered and he nodded.
“Heads up.” He muttered before he and his cousin walked away, Vince trailing behind them. I turned around and sure enough Michelle was walking towards me.
“Is this a better time?” She asked fake sweetly. I knew she was hinting to when I blew her off the day we found out about Adrian.
“You know why I blew you off.” I muttered annoyed.
“Yeah I found out, eventually. It would have been nice for you to explain it to me.”
“I didn’t have the time back then Michelle. I’m sorry okay?” I said and she stayed silent in thought before she sent me a flirty smile
“I’ll forgive you on one condition.” She proposed slyly which made me aware of what was coming.
“What’s that?” I asked knowingly.
“After you win lets go for a ride. It’s been a while.” She whispered and I nodded making her flash a triumphant grin. I agreed with her, it had been a while and she was a great stress reliever.
“I’ll find you after your race.” She whispered before strutting off, swaying her hips deliberately as she glanced back to make sure I was watching. Despite my mood I smirked at her before walking off to find Vince again.
Sure enough I won my race against some new kid and immediately Michelle found me. I glance Johnny’s way but he and his cousin were busy with their car so I ushered Michelle into my car and sped off. I had promised Vince I’d be back for him and he just waved me off with a smirk.
An hour later I pulled back up at the races. Michelle stepped out of my car, throwing me a seductive look as she managed to flash a lot of thigh my way. I joined her side a second later as she trailed a hand down my chest. Despite having spent the last hour hardcore fucking I felt another familiar twitch down there as she scraped her nails over my covered chest.
“Careful, your brothers around somewhere.” I spoke as I detangled myself from her.
“I don’t care; sex with you is just too good to pass up.” She flirted and I smirked cockily. She was right; sex between us was too good to pass up.
“Toretto get your hands off my sister.” A yell startled Michelle and I from our stare. Turning I saw Johnny storming towards us angrily and I knew shit was about to go down.
“Are you deaf Toretto? I said get your hands off my sister.” He spoke again once he was face to face with me.
“Tran.” I muttered annoyed as I stepped fully away from Michelle. I noted her pout as did Johnny and I wondered what he’d make of it.
“What’s going on here?” He demanded as he round onto Michelle.
“Johnny you need to relax. Dom and I were just hugging, girlfriends and boyfriends are allowed to do that.”
“What?” I asked stunned the same time Johnny asked the same. Michelle shot me an amused smile before she turned to her brother.
“Dommy and I are a couple. We’ve been keeping it on the low for a bit, we just wanted time to ourselves.” I stared dumbfounded at the girl as she tried to calm down her brother.
“What the hell is she talking about?” Vince whispered madly in my ear. It caught me by surprise I hadn’t realized Johnny’s yell had brought us to the crowd’s attention.
“I don’t know.” I said slightly afraid as I watched the entire race party listen to Michelle’s words.
“Well damn it Dom don’t just stand there stunned, do something.” He hissed quietly.
“Is that true Toretto?” Johnny asked and I looked between him and Michelle not having a clue what she’d said. One look at Michelle’s face told me I had better say yes to whatever it was and the thought was freaking me out.
“Yeah.” I spoke quietly. Michelle beamed with triumph and I heard Vince groan.
“You break her heart I’ll break your neck. If you have sex with her I’ll still break your neck.” He whispered as he shouldered past me. I let out a breath as I watched the rest of the crowd turn away too but I caught onto their whispers. Looked as if Michelle and I were officially dating.
“You and I need to talk, now.” I hissed at her as we walked over to a secluded part of the industrial area.
“Why are you so angry baby? It was only a matter of time before it happened.” She spoke as she ran a hand down my chest.
“I was never going to go out with you. It was just sex.” I hissed. She pouted in fake hurt as she moved closer.
“Nothing’s changed about the sex part, except now we get to meet up more often.”
“I have no interest in dating you Michelle, none whatsoever. You go back and tell him you lied, that we’re not dating.” I hissed angrily as I flicked her hands off my chest.
“If I do that you’ll get your face punched in and the sex will stop because Johnny will forbid me to see you. This is a win/win for both of us.” She hissed in anger and I glared at her.
“What the fuck do I get out of this?” I demanded.
“Great sex and me. You can pick me up seven tomorrow night for a date. I’ll make it worth your while.” She said simply before strutting off.
“Unbelievable.” I muttered in disbelief.
‘How had I gotten myself into this?’

Toretto house
I slammed the front door shut as I walked inside; not caring that it was almost midnight and everyone would be asleep. I stalked to the kitchen intent on having at least three drinks before bed, god knew I needed them.
It had been three days since Michelle had announced to everyone that we were ‘dating’. Three days of fucking hell and torture. Michelle had turned from a simple night of fun to a possessive, clingy and controlling bitch in three days. Despite the fact I hadn’t wanted to date her I had decided to give it a go, make it real. I would be lying if I said she didn’t bug the shit out of me. Every time my damn phone rang or beeped it would be her, I couldn’t seem to get a break. If this is what an exclusive relationship was then I vowed to never be in one again.
“Exclusive relationship.” I muttered as I yanked open the fridge. Despite her clingy and possessiveness I wasn't blind or stupid. As far as she was concerned our relationship was only meant to be exclusive from one side; mine. Almost from the moment she told the whole racing scene we were together she had been fucking around with other guys behind my back. Despite the fact I didn’t care for the girl I was pissed off at her for making me look like a fool. Hector and his crew had been the ones to tell me. After getting mad I told them what actually happened and the arseholes, Vince included, laughed their arses off.
“Just wait till she finds out I fucked Madison.” I muttered as I cracked opened my beer, slammed the fridge shut and turned.
“Really? And what might she say to that?” I froze, beer midway to my mouth as I took in the stern looking form of my father in front of me.
‘Shit.’

“I can’t believe your dad made you invite her over for dinner.” Vince bitched as we cleaned up the remains of it.
“After last night I can.” I muttered sourly at the thought of last nights lecture.
“I still find it funny that he rode your arse over Michelle.” He cackled as he finished the drying up.
“Yeah real funny V.” I spat moodily. Dinner had been a complete disaster. Michelle had been obnoxiously rude and I had sat completely embarrassed by her behavior.
“Dominic a word… in private.” I looked up as dad walked into the room. Vince took the hint and left quickly while I waited to be lectured yet again.
“As I said last night I thought I raised you better then to treat women that way.”
“You did, I’m sorry.” I spoke softly.
“No I’m sorry. I was right I did raise you better then to treat women that way.” I frowned.
“I don’t follow.” I muttered in confusion.
“I said women Dom, women.”
“I still don’t follow.” I watched as my dad sighed in annoyance.
“That? That was no woman. I don’t like what you’re doing and I hope you think twice before doing it again but I don’t want her around here again or around Mia. Is that understood?” He said sternly and I nodded still slightly dumbfounded.
“He’s trying to say she’s a slut.” Vince shouted from the lounge and Dad’s facial expression screwed up in distaste.
“Language Vincent!” He shouted which was followed by a whine of fear.
“Understood?” Dad asked again and I nodded.
“Understood.”
“Good Letty’s on the phone.” He muttered as he collapsed in the dining room chair with his beer. Taking the hint I left him to it.
"So Vince tells me you and Tran got into it the other night." Letty spoke without skipping a beat as I was handed the phone by Vince. I glared at the offending male who scurried to make himself scarce. Walking up to my room I shut the door and sighed.
"Did he now?" I muttered.
"Yeah, so who won?"
"It wasn’t that kind of a fight." I spoke and she laughed.
"Thought as much. How is Michelle doing?” she asked trying to keep her laughter in check.
“I think you mean who?” I laughed along with her.
“Dominic Toretto in a relationship. Who would have thought?”
"Well since we're talking about relationships are you still seeing that guy from school?" I asked trying to change the topic.
"I never said I was in a relationship with him, I said I liked him." I frowned and thought back realizing she was right.
"Right, so what’s going on with it then?" I asked confused.
"Nothing. But um I um..." I listened as she stumbled over her words.
"You what?" I asked.
“Huh? Oh nothing sorry.” She said quickly. I wanted to call her on it but I thought better of it, so I left it and let it slide.
"Seriously though you and Tran huh?" She asked quietly and I winced, it sounded so wrong.
"Yeah." I sighed in defeat.

Toretto garage
I looked around the garage taking in all the cars we had yet to get around to. We had been busy over the last two weeks seeing as school went back next week and they all needed to be finished by then. Thinking of school made me think of Letty. She still hadn't mentioned when she'd be back, or if she was coming back. I'd been dropping hints hoping she would tell me but she had just changed the subject instead.
It was hard to believe nearly three months had flown by. Letty’s sixteenth had been yesterday and we had tried to ring last night but no one had answered our calls. It was strange but dad said they had probably gone out and we’d try again tonight.
Not wanting to miss talking with Letty I had cancelled the date Michelle and I had made. I hadn’t really given her an excuse just that I couldn’t do it. She’d pitched a bit of a fit but by now I had gotten used to her attitude and knew just to ignore it.
As I was bent over a car working on the engine I heard a car pull up outside but paid it no attention. Three owners were due this morning to pick up cars and I knew Dad would handle them so I continued working. Hearing two sets of footsteps against the concrete I glanced up. A woman in her mid to late thirties was standing at the entrance, sunglasses blocking her eyes as she spoke on the phone. There was a younger girl next to her, presumably her daughter judging by the age that caught my attention. She was standing sideways so I couldn’t really get a good view of her face but I could see the rest of her just fine.
She was sixteen, maybe not even that but damn she was gorgeous. Her long dark raven locks was styled straight making it end half way down her back. She wore a tight white singlet top that left an inch of her caramel skin and flat stomach on display. A pair of black short shorts sat nicely on her hips and hugged her ass perfectly. Her long toned legs were on display, a sight which had me hard just by looking.
Feeling a presence next to me I looked up and noted Vince looking at the girl as well.
"Damn check out the girl." He whistled quietly and all I could do was nod in response.
"Too bad you have a girlfriend. I on the other hand am a free man." He teased and I glared at him.
"I would quite happily replace Michelle." I snapped.
"You should have replaced her the moment it happened." He muttered.
We watched silently the duo, and in my case blatantly checked out the teen, until the girl's mother finished on the phone. The woman gave a bright smile to her daughter before she turned her attention back to the office, taking off her shades as she turned her back to us.
"Hi can I help- Maria?" Dad spoke shocked as he looked up properly. My jaw dropped at dad’s admission. Vince and I looked at each other before our heads swung back to the raven haired beauty standing at the door. I vaguely heard Maria and dad laughing by the office as they spoke and caught up but my eyes were still glued to the teen at the door. Letty stood at the door of the garage looking my way and all I could do was stare. She gave me a small smile in greeting before turning towards Maria and dad.
"Letty?" Vince croaked out quietly. I just nodded, too dumb founded to put a sentence together just yet. I hadn’t been ashamed about checking her out before when I hadn’t know her identity, but now that I knew I was still shamelessly checking her out. When had she grown up?
"Tony, I'm sorry I didn't tell you we were coming back but I wanted to surprise you." Maria spoke again making my eyes leave Letty’s body for a minute.
"I almost didn't recognize you but I definitely didn't recognize Letty. Look at you." Dad spoke shocked and I watched as Letty smiled at him before accepting his hug.
"Thanks Mr T." She smiled.
"Let." Vince called louder and I watched as she turned to us smiling.
"Hey guys." Vince nudged me, hard, when I didn’t respond. Snapping to my senses I finally managed to stop staring.
“We didn't recognize you." I managed to say after a beat.
"I haven’t changed that much." She said amused.
"You kidding? Girl you have no idea." Vince muttered and she rolled her eyes crossing her arms over her chest. I found my gaze wondering again, this time to her breasts as they were pushed up even more. I had to resist groaning out loud as the urge to touch her passed through my mind.
"You okay?" She asked me and I snapped out of my thoughts blushing a little.
"Yeah sorry." I saw the look Vince gave me and responded by clearing my throat awkwardly, turning to look at anything but Letty.
"So do we get a hug or what?" Vince asked giving me a sneaky sideways glance as he spoke.
‘What was he trying to do? Kill me?’ I thought as I sent him a warning look.
"You going soft V?" She joked and I couldn't help but laugh as Vince pulled her into a head lock.
"Careful Letty, you're playing with the big boys again remember?" he reminded as he gave her a quick hug.
"It's good to see you back Let, the garage was getting boring without you." I said as I caught her arm tugging her closer so I could give her a hug. I hugged her tightly and lifted her off the ground as she laughed and hugged me back just as tightly. Placing her back on her feet I was reluctant to let her go, enjoying the feeling of her body against mine.
"It's good to be back, I've missed this place."
"How could you not with a hot guy like me working here?" Vince joked as he pointed to himself and she rolled her eyes.
"So full of yourself V, but I missed you guys too. You guys have changed as well." She said.
"Nowhere near the amount you have." I argued as I started running my eyes up her body again. If she noticed me checking her out she didn't say anything but she ignored my comment, instead pointing to my upper body.
"You've been working out." She said and I nodded. It was true I had been, as had Vince. I was surprised she had noticed but at the same time I was happy because it meant she had to have checked me out too to come to that conclusion.
"So what's new?" she asked as she jumped up onto the bench next to us. I spared a glance at my dad but he and Maria were busy talking so I turned my attention back to Letty.
"We owe you a car race. Happy birthday by the way, you didn't answer when I called last night." I said reminding her of our promise and she smiled widely.
"Speaking of cars, guess who got her license?" She asked grinning and I grinned at her.
"Seriously?" I asked as I held my hand out wanting to see the proof which she handed over.
"Yep, went there first before we came here."
"Nice picture." I smirked and she stuck her tongue out at me.
"I could point out yours." She warned but I shook my head. I had to agree with her, mine was worse.
"Nice now I don't have to cart your arse around all the time when you need to go somewhere." I half joked.
"Well you do until I get a car." She smirked and I couldn't help but smirk back.
"Do I just?" I joked.
"Is that a problem Toretto?" She asked quietly as we stared at each other, neither of us able stop or look away.
"No, no problem." I smiled.

‘Shit.’

Toretto House
