Letty's POV
I bounced nervously in my chair as I sat in the dark kitchen trying to calm my nerves. It had been almost a week since we'd returned from mum's and they were due to arrive here tomorrow lunch time. Everyone had been supportive and thrilled that my mother had come around and was coming to visit, Mia especially. She was going all out with the food and had had the boys working the yard all day readying it for tomorrow. Well technically today. It was three o'clock in the morning and I'd been woken to the baby dancing on my bladder and had been unable to go back to sleep. Instead I had decided to come down and get a drink.
"Hey, what are you doing up?" I jumped, startled by the voice but relaxed as his familiar touch surrounded me.
"Sorry didn't mean to scare you."
"It's okay. Baby was dancing up a storm and I couldn't get back to sleep again. I came down for a drink." I said, leaning back into Dom's embrace as I closed my eyes.
"Should have woken me, I would have tried to help." He said as he pulled up a chair beside me.
"I didn't want to wake you." I smiled as I looked over at him in the dark.
"I woke to you being gone, I rushed out to make sure you were okay."
"I'm okay papa. Stop worrying." I laughed quietly.
"Never." He said seriously as he leant over and placed a kiss on my lips.
"He or she is really kicking up a storm." He said in awe as his hands moved to cup my stomach.
"Mmhmm. I'm nervous about today. I think the baby's reacting to it."
"Today will be fine. You're mum and James' are excited and all the family are excited, Ava's over excited to see grandma and grandpa again and have them stay." I lauyghed quietly knowing he was right. It had taken us a solid two hours to get her into bed last night. She was really over excited.
"Your right, I'm just being silly." I sighed happily as Dom's hands danced over my stomach making the baby kick less frequently.
"No you're just being cautious and I get it but everything will be fine Let. I can promise you that." He whispered as he kissed my cheek, his hands still gently massaging my belly.
"He's stopped." I mumbled in relief.
"See daddy knows how to calm her down." He grinned making me smile at the running joke we had going. Not knowing what this baby was was sort of fun. I liked making Dom correct me and vice versa.
"Come on baby, let's get you back to bed. I know another little one who will be up at first light."
"Maybe we could lock the door."
"It would last a whole two seconds" He chuckled, helping me stand before leading me through the dark house and up the stairs to our room.
Dom's POV
"Morning sleeping beauty." Mia cracked a smile as I dragged myself through the door to the kitchen.
"Morning, I need coffee." I mumbled as I shifted Ava from one hip to the other.
"Morning miss Ava."
"Auny Mi, gamma here. Now." Ava asked again and I chuckled as I passed her to my sister.
"Not yet sweetie. Soon, lunch time okay?"
"Otay." She agreed before squirming to be put down. We watched her run off into the lounge room before turning back to each other.
"Did you get any sleep?" She asked seriously.
"Between trying to get Ava to bed last night, waking up at three to find Let gone and then being woken up by little miss out there at five this morning, I managed to get a little. Baby was giving her troubles and she couldn't sleep." I said as I handed her over a cup of coffee.
"Thanks. She's a tad bit excited." Mia smiled.
"You think. Anyone would think she hasn't seen Maria in months." I laughed with a shake of my head as I drunk my coffee.
"Well six days is a long time for a little girl."
"Where's Lexi?" I asked only just noticing she wasn't in the room.
"She's still asleep, I was surprised myself."
"Enjoy that while it lasts." I mumbled making Mia laugh.
"Soon enough you're going to have two to contend with."
"I know." I smiled happily.
"I like seeing you happy. It's been nice to watch this past week. We were all commenting on it yesterday. It's been a long time since we've seen the two of you like this."
"We're working on it."
"I know and it shows. I'm proud of you." She spoke leaning up to kiss me on the cheek and pull me in for a hug.
"Thanks sis."
"Unca Bian, gamma here. Now?" We heard from the lounge room and Mia laughed at my groan.
"Not yet Sweetie, soon though." I heard Brian reply and I shook my head with a groan.
"I'm gunna be hearing this all day aren't I?" I asked out loud.
"Yep." Mia giggled as Brian walked into the room with a sleepy Lexi on his shoulder.
"What's all the laughing in here?" He asked as I held my hands out for Alexis. She came willingly, snuggling up to me as she rested her head on my shoulder.
"Just Ava." Mia laughed as she turned to kiss Brian good morning. I watched as he wrapped his arms around her and whispered in her ear making her giggle.
"Get a room you two. You're gunna scar my niece if you kiss in front of her." I joked as Mia and Brian pulled apart.
"Please like your one to talk. How many times have you and Let kissed in front of Ava?" Mia jokingly scolded as she turned back to the stove.
"Where is Let anyway?" Brian asked.
"She's sleeping, I didn't want to wake her up. She had a rough night."
"As much as I hated those nights, the morning sickness and the mood swings, I do miss being pregnant and feeling the tiny life inside move around." Mia spoke up as she flipped the bacon.
"We can fix that." Brian spoke up with a grin as he hugged Mia from behind.
"And that's our cue to leave Lexi, lets go check in on your cousin." I spoke up, dumping my empty mug in the sink before leaving the room and laughter behind us.
"Dada, pway? Exie!" Ava called excitedly as we walked into the lounge.
"Let's play with the blocks okay? Can you build me a tower?" I asked Ava as I sat down on the floor next to her and placed Lexi down so she could play as well.
"Big."
"Yep build a big one." I said as I helped Lexi stack the blocks.
"GAH!" Lexi squealed knocking over the stack of blocks before clapping happily. I laughed along with her before playing her favourite game again by stacking up the blocks so she could knock them down.
"Mama Pway, pwease bwocks?" I looked up and smiled at Letty who was walking over to us.
"Mama can't get down on the floor princess." I reminded Ava.
"Baby."
"That's right the baby." Letty spoke as she sat on the lounge behind me.
"Baby big."
"Yep baby's getting big." I said as I smiled over at Ava.
"Did my daughter just tell me I'm fat?" Letty mumbled while I laughed, letting Lexi go as she crawled around on the floor.
"No but I think she called the baby fat." I laughed as I climbed up on the couch next to her.
"I feel fat." She moaned as she laid her head against my shoulder.
"You are not fat, you're beautiful." I spoke honestly.
"Now who needs a room?" Brian teased as he walked out from the kitchen, swooping down to pick Lexi up and tickle her making her giggle.
"Dada!" She squealed making me smile.
"Your niece just called me fat." Letty spoke.
"Letty you are far from fat." Brian spoke up and nodded in agreement.
"When's everyone arriving?" I asked Mia as she came into the room.
"Right about….now." She finished as the front door opened and voices filled the house.
"Breakfast is ready come and get it." She yelled before walking back into the kitchen.
"You heard mama breakfast is ready. You hungry?" Brian asked Lexi as he took her into the kitchen.
"Lets go get some food princess." I said to Ava as I helped Letty up.
"Gama here, now?" She asked again and I groaned.
"Not yet."
"Been asking all morning?" Letty guessed.
"Yep."
