Mia’s POV
“Hey gorgeous girls, did you have fun with uncles?” I asked as I took Lexie from Tej while smiling at Ava.
“They were good. Ava’s been really quiet and withdrawn though, I think perhaps she senses something.” Gisele spoke up.
“She doesn’t like stress or tension. A side effect of being around Letty when she was working jobs. She can feel it and she starts to go quiet. I can usually snap her out of it but not this time. Maybe Letty or Leon will have more luck.” Lotty spoke up as she hugged Ava to her.
“They should be here soon.” I spoke softly, reaching out to push Ava’s hair back off her face.
“I know, I spoke to Letty not long after they landed. How’s the patient?” She asked.
“Irritable. He never did like hospitals.” I shook my head as we all sat down in the seats.
“We’re not heading in?” Elena asked as she picked up a ball and handed it to Ava. I watched as the little girl looked at the ball before burying her head into her aunt’s shoulder.
“No they’re just checking him over again, we can go in soon they said.” I mentioned as I sat Lexie down on the floor. She immediately grinned up at me, loving the fact she now had free rein to get into mischief.
“And just where do you think you’re going?” I asked as she took off on hands and knees.
“Da!” She giggled as I stood, ready to follow but I paused as I realised just who she’d seen.
“Brian.” I breathed out as I headed straight for them. I watched as he swooped down, swinging Lexie up into his arms before he opened one for me. I smiled and let out a laugh as I rushed into his side.
“Don’t ever leave me again.” I muttered as I hugged him hard.
“I don’t plan on it.” He promised as he pulled me in for a kiss.

Leon’s POV
I smiled at Brian and Mia as I passed, leaving them alone as they reunited. My eyes immediately met Elena’s and my smile widened. She grinned back and made her way to me. Hugging her close I buried my face in her neck, placing kiss upon kiss on her skin.
“I missed you.” I breathed out as I pulled away.
“I missed you more.” She whispered back before I pulled her in for a kiss.

Letty’s POV
I smiled at Lotty as I reached her, immediately taking in the small child she had in her arms.
“She’s been missing mama.” Lotty spoke quietly, immediately gaining the attention of the little girl. Her eyes took a moment before they met mine but when they did she let out a huge smile and reached for me.
“Ava.” I cooed as I took her, holding her tight as I kissed her cheek.
“Mama, mine.” She smiled and I smiled back.
“I missed you so much baby.” I whispered as I kissed her chubby little cheek.
“Dada? Where?” I looked at Lotty for the answer but she shook her head.
“We can’t see him just yet, doctors are with him. We should be able to soon though.”
“But he’s okay?” I asked seriously.
“He’s fine. Nothing a little TLC won’t fix. But what about you mama? You had us all worried, I know Dom’s going crazy.” I winced and looked behind her.
“He knows?” I asked. She nodded seriously.
“He wanted to see you and Ava immediately after waking. Mia had to tell him why you weren’t there.”
“Oh.” I sighed.
“He’s just worried. Mia said he nearly ripped all his lines out trying to get out of bed to find you.”
“Sounds like Dom.” I rolled my eyes.
“How ya feeling Let? All okay?” Gisele asked and I turned to face the rest of the team and nodded.
“Thank you. All of you, for looking after Ava.” I added and she smiled.
“Don’t mention it, just glad you’re okay.” Elena spoke up and we shared a smile.
‘Oh how times have changed.’ I thought as I watched her and Leon.
“Makes everything we all did seem worth it now, doesn’t it?” Lotty asked as she stood by my side. I watched every single person of our family as they interacted and I nodded.
“Yeah it does. It’s just a shame it took lives as well.” I spoke thinking of Jesse and Vince.
“They’re still here with us.”
“I know. Lotty I know you don’t want me to say this but I think you should-“
“Talk to Luke?” She finished and I nodded.
“Life’s too short Lotty, don’t make the same mistake that I did.” I whispered.
“Do you regret not going back to Dom?” She asked slightly surprised and I smiled sadly.
“Back then, no but now? Yes I do. I could have had all this so much sooner.” I spoke waving my free hand out in front of me.
“We’ll see.” She whispered as she answered my earlier question.
“Toretto?” I turned around at the sound of Dom’s name and was faced with a doctor.
“Yes?” I asked anxiously.
“You can see him now.” He smiled before he walked off.
“Go Let, you two need time alone. We’ll be in soon.” Brian spoke and I looked over each and every person unsurely.
“Are you sure?” I asked as my eyes settle on Mia.
“Go, before he tears the hospital apart looking for you.” She laughed and I smiled, turning around with Ava as I headed towards his room.
“Are you ready to see dada?” I asked Ava as I walked up the corridor.
“My dada.” She smiled as she pointed forwards.
“You have to be gentle with dada though. No jumping, okay?” I spoke gently.
“No, no jump.” She clapped and I laughed quietly.
“That’s right no jumping. Dada’s sore.”
“No jump.”
“Good girl.”
“DADA!” I cringed as Ava squealed, loudly, in my ear at the sight of Dom. Dom looked up as we came through the door and let out a huge grin.
“Princess.” He cooed as he held his hand out.
“Remember no jumping.” I warned again as I set her gently on the bed. She immediately snuggled into Dom’s side, grinning up at him as he kissed her gently.
“Let.” He breathed out as he looked up at me. I sat down carefully on the bed, mindful of the lines and leads, before taking his offered hand.
“Are you okay?” He asked fearfully.
“Me? I should be asking you that. You’re the one that nearly…” I choked off tearfully as I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
“Hey, baby look at me. I’m okay.” He spoke gently as he squeezed my hand, bring my hand to his lips.
“I thought I’d lost you.” I whispered as I watched Dom place a kiss on Ava’s curls.
“I’m not that easy to get rid of.” He joked half heartedly and I gave him a small smile.
“But I need to know Let, are you okay?”
“I’m okay now. Just a shock.”
“And baby?”
“Baby’s fine, we both are.”
“I was so worried about you.” I smiled slightly and shook my head.
“I’m fine.”
“Come here.” He asked as he pulled me closer. I cast an unsure look at the leads but he shook his head.
“It’s fine, just come here please?” He begged. Not needing any more encouragement I moved further up the bed and tucked myself into Dom’s other side.
“Where did you get shot?” I asked quietly as I paused from lying my head on his shoulder.
“Ava’s side, you’re okay.”
“Is she okay there?” I asked worried as I looked at Ava. She was being good and lying still, babbling away to herself as she played with Dom’s fingers.
“Letty relax, she’s fine. Stop fussing and just kiss me.” He demanded with a smile. I looked at him shocked for a moment before smiling, covering his lips with my own.
I sighed and fully relaxed into his side as his lips worked mine over. I granted his tongue immediate access and kissed him back with equal fever.
“Kiss! Ava kiss!” Ava demanded making us break away from one another laughing.
“Ava wants a kiss does she?” He asked as he kissed her loudly on the cheek making her giggle. Dom groaned loudly in pain as Ava’s foot connected with his stomach.
“Ava careful.” I scolded as I held her still from where I was.
“She’s okay.” Dom whispered. Shaking my head I got up off the bed, dodging Dom’s attempts to hold me in place. Walking around the bed I picked Ava up and sat us both down on the chair next to the bed instead.
“Let…” Dom whined as he reached for us both but I shook my head.
“No we’ll end up doing you more damage.” I spoke softly.
“I didn’t even get a chance to say hello to baby.” He pouted and I couldn’t help but smile.
“Baby.” Ava clapped before she laid her head on my tiny bump.
“Yeah baby. Are you going to help mummy and daddy with the baby?” Dom asked her and she nodded seriously which made us both laugh.
“She’s going to be the best big sister.” We both looked up as Mia, Brian and the gang all started to file in.
“Brian.” Dom smiled as Brian moved to Dom’s other side.
“Scared the fuck out of me man.” Brian swore as they shared a smile.
“Brian.” Mia hissed for his language.
“Sorry.” He cringed.
“Always finding ways to keep you on your toes.” Dom joked.
“Yeah well next time try something less deadly okay?” Brian joked.
“I’ll try my best. Thanks for staying with Let, it means a lot.”
“I know, I wasn’t leaving her side for anything.” They shared a smile which had me shaking my head. Mia caught my gaze and rolled her eyes, clearly meaning boys which made us both grin.
